A MORNING CALL
FROM THE GYOR TOWN HALL

On the morning of 17 June 2017
I woke up somewhere on the bank of the Raba River,
in the Magyar town of Gyor (130,000 inhabitants),
at the middle of the distance between Budapest and Vienna.
The appearance of the Sun made me remember that,
from a warmer space,
the famous Spanish poet and fighter Garcilaso de la Vega
was exiled right to this town in the 15th century.
But Gyor gave to the world its own great personalities, too,
such us the mathematicians Frigyes Riesz and Marcel Riesz,
or the avant-garde painter Desiderius Orban.
Suddenly the top of a far tower
seduced me to advance to it for a few minutes.
It was even the Gyor Town Hall,
a superb neo-classical building.
Above it, the Moon and the Sun simultaneously appeared as
mathematical painting and painted mathematics.
