HEAVENLY BODIES
AT A FESTIVAL OF ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

In 2018 April 14
I watched the Sun’s road
and, on the evening time, I started to the Victory Way in Central Bucharest
to catch aspects from the annual International Spotlight Festival,
an edition dedicated to the Great Romanian Union.
Obviously, I was afraid I could not see any heavenly body,
but they didn’t accept to be integrally covered
by the human skill (and hauteur?).
A tiny point of celestial light, Sirius,
called me from the right vicinity of a block of flats:
“Have a bon voyage through the sea of artificial lights.
Don’t be afraid,
we remain in the sky!”
Near the CEC Palace,
Venus encouraged me to continue to go
to the Royal Palace Square.
And I did it:
Boulevard and Capitol Hotels, Odeon Theatre, Palace of Telephones,
Novotel and Continental Hotels, Palace of the Senate,
Kretulescu Church, Carol I Library…
Near the monument of the Anticommunist Revolution,
Arcturus suggested me to go
to the statue of the national poet, Mihai Eminescu,
and the Romanian Atheneum.
Just beautiful lights?
Or simply light pollution?
Arcturus, judge this!
